Fitness Goals in the New Year!

20 days into the New Year… How Is your New Year resolution to lose weight? ....Not going as great as you expect? If so you are not alone. As the New Year begins many of us are turning our attentions towards health and nutrition with weight loss as our goal. Although we are in good company beginning this weight loss journey, many of us will fall short of our target weight and ultimately give up on our battle to shed those extra pounds.
So how does one lose that weight? The best thing to do is to start the weight loss journey as prepared as possible. One way to do this is to make a clear timeline of practical goals. Make sure that you know exactly how much weight you plan to lose in both the short term and long term. Take heed, it is easy to dream big and not follow through so this is the time to be realistic. It feels much better to set the bar low and exceed your expected weigh loss than to ask more of yourself than you can deliver.
After you have a well thought out schedule of weight loss goals the next thing to do is create a plan of action to achieve those goals. Be detailed and make sure that you incorporate everyday life into this plan. Outline every step that is necessary to reach your target weight by each deadline. Do your research and be as thorough as possible. This is will be a form of motivation for you in the future so make sure to write it with a positive mindset.
It is important to be positive when losing weight. Monitor your progress and make sure to reward yourself in ways that will not hinder your progress. If you have set a weekly goal to lose 5 lbs. then reward yourself with something other than food once you have lost the weight.
Know that sometimes weight loss plans need to change and we must be flexible when those changes are needed. Try not to beat yourself up if you do not reach your target weight loss; instead remap you weight loss plan. The more you try to make up for the pounds you did not lose the harder it will be to lose the weight. Instead of accumulating failures, celebrate success. Keep it up and I know this time next year there will be a thinner healthier you! Look out for great fitness deals coming up on JollySavers
